A Surprise Promotion!!
Two days ago my GM called me to his office, he told me that we will have a meeting (my HOD, GM and me), I knew I should not have expected anything high but I feel something good will happen, I always believe my sixth sense (it works every time). My gut feeling was right, GM offered a position of a PA!! Executive Secretary for a GM! Later that day, I found that my own HOD who had recommended me to the GM.
He told me the extra benefits and the salary increment that I will get, how my level will be AHOD, I never thought it is going to be this fast, I said yes right away, it was a no brainer, I did not need too much time to think about accepting his offer. One of my colleague told me that the salary of a PA is 10k, I got less than that and I should have asked more. I was like, seriously, getting this offer alone has made me super flattered, knowing that my career will grow further, and negotiating salary is the last thing I can think of, this is not a good time to discuss money.
I am so happy and grateful for what I have achieved only within few months of working in this Spanish company. Getting a promotion just in 3 months after joining?? Only one in a million will get them. Therefore I am so thankful for this appreciation and recognition. My HOD really a different kind than other HOD I have work with. She will make our life like hell if we dont do what she says but she will lift us to the highest layer of a sky if we meet her expectation, and here I am, in my dream land. I knew I can do so much more than just a reservation agent, and for so long I was just wasting my potential and of course my time. Thank God she sees my potential, she motivates me and reward me for my hard work.
Must keep up the good work, and pray to God my GM will be promoted to VP Middle East so that I can be there too, then lets talk about money :D
