Between Chores and Days Off of A Chef
My "weekend" starts tonight, for that today I need maximum preparation such as: do laundry (washing & ironing), clean the house (dusting, vacuuming, moping & taking out trashes), prepare dinner (creating menu, groceries shopping & cooking the meals). So tomorrow hubby can enjoy his day off and get rest without necessarily thinking about the house chores...
Some of the housewife think that husband needs to contribute by helping with the house chores, which I totally agree with only IF there is too much work loads to handle alone. If the wife is only laze around the house watching TV or busy with the internet, there is no reason to ask the husband to help during his day off which supposed to be used for him to get rest.
I experienced that before when my baby was still very small, I have to carry her around the house while doing all the chores or I have to play the whole day with her and only had time to do the work when she took a nap during the day. I really expected my husband to help me with the chores, but my husband I guess had already get tired with his work at the restaurant that he just wanted to sleep the whole day on his day off, let alone do the dishes.
So maybe I got used to it, to do all on my own, and I really don't mind, I enjoy my job of being housewife. I have time to do my chores and still have time left to update my Facebook and write on my blogs (which I have 3 of them as of the moment).
Having a busy chef as a husband, I realize that I do not have him at all during workdays, yes he comes home and sleeps next to me at night but his mind is at work. He is so tired after work, we chat little bit while he is having his dinner, he watches little bit of the TV show and he goes to bed, he wakes up early in the morning and it goes on and on day to day. So the only time I can have him is only during his off days, which we now agreed to have them 2 days in a week without necessarily within 2 consecutive days. I will make sure he will enjoy his day off by taking as much rest as he needs in the morning and going out with me for a movie or dining out (normally both) at night.
I guess people (read: wives) are different, I had one of my husband's colleague came over to my home last night, it was his day off, and he said how he would love to enjoy his day off going out for a movie or wake up late, since the baby is there to nag him early in the morning to ask him to cook her mashed potato, and wife asks to help with the laundry and cook their dinner plus extra other meals if the wife decides she wants to eat some Indonesian snack (yesterday was chicken risolles and today is batagor), he has a very tiring day off instead of enjoying it. I feel sorry for them, the wife seriously needs to learn how to cook mashed potato -forgodsake- and let the husband enjoy his sleep after long hours work, but still I saw the Facebook status of the wife saying "Desperate Chef Housewife season 1", how desperate you can be by letting your husband cook for your baby's meal and your dinner plus do the laundry during his day off?
I was jokingly responding to his complaints to my husband by saying "I think I need you to do the same next time you are off", his friend was laughing "oops.. I guess I have told you a wrong story, hahaa sorry Daniel". But really, I was glad that my busy chef does not have to go through all those things, I would never let him to.
Yeah, we all have the different problem any way.. Let us just treat our husband well for it is easy for them to turn away and look for something (or someone) else to comfort them.. Finger crossed to that!!
